The association has been active since 1985. Its main goal is to unite and bring together the Tatars of Australia and to preserve their ethnic identity, culture, traditions, language, and the secrets of the national cuisine. The association holds picnic gatherings for children in parks and organizes online conferences and committee meetings.

Sabantuy has been celebrated every year since 1997. A Sunday school operates in Adelaide.
